What is the ruling regarding the manumission (freeing) of slaves when the deceased owner leaves behind property exceeding the value of the slaves?

If the deceased owner of the slaves possessed property other than the slaves whose value is equal to or greater than the value of all the slaves, all the slaves are freed because they fall outside the one-third (thaluth) limit reserved for bequests.
