The value is to be assessed at the moment of emancipation. Payment is demanded immediately if the freed person is capable of payment.

If the freed person is insolvent, there are two differing legal opinions regarding whether she is to be given respite until she is solvent or compelled to earn the money, based on the differing narrations concerning whether an insolvent debtor is compelled to work.
