Insanity, leprosy, and vitiligo prevent the intended purpose of the marriage contract—which is sexual intercourse—because such conditions induce aversion that entirely prevents intimacy and contact. Moreover, there is fear of these conditions spreading to the offspring. The insane person presents a danger of aggression, thus making these conditions equivalent to physical impediments to intercourse.
