What dowry must be paid in a marriage contracted by the restricted person?
General Chapter

Book of Marriage
Primary text
The marriage must be contracted with a dowry equivalent to the customary dower (mahr al-mithl). If the amount exceeds the customary dower, the excess is voided because it constitutes a favorable transfer of his property which he does not possess the right to arrange. If the dowry is less than the customary dower, the marriage is valid, as it represents a gain without loss.
