The sound legal position dictates that a guardian may not contract a marriage for his ward with more than one woman simultaneously, as there is no need for an increase in wives, rendering the expenditure of his wealth unnecessary.

In Al-Jami', it is mentioned that a guardian may marry his young son to four wives because the father may perceive a benefit in doing so.
