Is it permissible to marry two paternal cousins or two maternal cousins simultaneously?
Chapter on What is Prohibited to Marry and Combining Between Them and Other Matters
Al-Mughni
Book of Marriage
Primary text
It is not forbidden to combine the marriages of two paternal cousins or two maternal cousins based on the general agreement of scholars. This is due to the absence of explicit prohibition regarding them, and their inclusion under the general permissibility stated in the saying of Allah Almighty: "And lawful to you are all those beyond these" (Quran 4:24). Furthermore, one of them would be lawful to marry if the other were male. This view is held by the general body of scholars.

There are two narrations regarding the dislike (*karaha*) of such a combination. One narration states that it is disliked, attributed to Ibn Mas'ud, Jabir bin Zayd, 'Atā', al-Hasan, and Sa'id bin 'Abd al-'Aziz. This is based on a narration that the Prophet, peace be upon him, forbade a man from marrying a woman in the presence of her female relative out of dislike for severing kinship ties, as it leads to the severance of a commanded tie of kinship. The other narration states it is not disliked, which is the position of Sulayman bin Yasar, al-Sha'bi, Hasan bin Hasan, al-Awza'i, al-Shafi'i, Ishaq, and Abu 'Ubayd, because there is no kinship tie between them that necessitates prohibition of their simultaneous marriage.
