Primary text
It is recommended (*mustahabb*) to contract marriage on Friday. This recommendation is supported by a group of the early Muslims (*Salaf*), including Damrah bin Habib, Rashid bin Sa'd, and Habib bin Utbah. The rationale is that Friday is a noble day and a day of celebration (*Eid*), being the day when Allah created Adam, peace be upon him, making the wedding ceremony more appropriate for that day. Furthermore, Abu Hafs narrated a report on the authority of Abu Hurairah, wherein the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Attend to the marriage solemnization (*imlak*), for it brings greater blessing." Additionally, contracting marriage on Friday is closer to its intended purpose and involves less waiting.
