Primary text

If the non-Muslim spouse converts within the waiting period before the initial convert apostatizes, the waiting period is considered to begin from the moment of the first spouse's apostasy. This is because the legal effect of the religious divergence, established by the first conversion, is nullified by the second spouse's conversion within the Iddah.
