Is the marriage contract valid with the testimony of two blind men?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Marriage
Primary text
The marriage contract is established with the testimony of two blind men, according to one view, as their testimony is testimony regarding speech, which is valid from a blind person, similar to testimony based on widespread reputation (*Istifadah*). However, validity requires certainty regarding the voice and the identification of the contracting parties' voices in a manner that leaves no doubt, equivalent to what a sighted person would confirm.
