Primary text
The marriage of a son to his father's female slave is permissible because the son has no ownership or semblance of ownership over her, thus resembling a non-relative. This principle extends to all other relatives. The permissibility of a father marrying his daughter to his male slave is contingent upon the view that freedom is not a necessary condition for the validity of the marriage.
