Is marriage valid with adherents of extreme sects such as the Lafdhiyyah, Khawarij (Haruri), Rafidhi, or Qadari?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Marriage
Primary text
Marriage is prohibited with one who commits apostasy (murriq min al-din) such as a Khawarij. Marriage is also forbidden with a Rafidhi or a Qadari. A particularly severe prohibition applies to one who writes down Hadith while adhering to the Lafdhiyyah beliefs, as this represents a greater deviation than a Jahmi. Separation must be enforced.
Supporting text
If the individual from these sects does not actively call others to their belief, there is no prohibition against the marriage.
