Primary text

If a woman has no agnatic relatives from her lineage, her Mawla (freedman) has the authority to marry her. If the Mawla is absent or legally unqualified (such as a woman, a child, or a non-Muslim), the authority devolves to the nearest agnatic relatives according to the order of inheritance, followed by the Mawla's Mawla, and then the 'Asabah of the Mawla, following the same order as inheritance.
