Primary text
When the freedman's son and the freedman himself are present, the son takes precedence. This is because the son has a stronger right to inheritance and is considered stronger in 'Asabah. The paternal blood relative is prioritized over the corresponding paternal blood relative son only due to the greater affection and virtue of lineage, which is absent in the case of the freedman's father; therefore, the matter reverts to the fundamental principle of priority based on inheritance strength.
