What is the ruling if a man converts while poor, and one slave converts with him, but he does not choose until he becomes wealthy, and the rest convert later?
Chapter on Marriage of Polytheists

Primary text
If the master converts while poor, and one slave converts with him, but he does not choose until he becomes wealthy, he retains the right to choose. This is because the condition allowing for choice was present when he was poor, and the subsequent change in his financial status does not nullify a right already established, analogous to cases where marriage or choice is established before becoming wealthy.
