Primary text

A stipulation by the wife that the husband shall not marry another woman or keep a concubine is binding. Should the husband violate this, the wife retains the right to seek separation (fasakh). This is encompassed within the conditions whose fulfillment is obligatory as they pertain to the wife's benefit and utility.
