What supplication should be made upon acquiring a wife or a slave?

When one marries a woman or buys a slave, one must say: 'O Allah, I ask You for her good and the good upon which You have created her, and I seek refuge in You from her evil and the evil upon which You have created her.' This is narrated by Abu Dawud on the authority of Amr bin Shu'ayb from his father, from his grandfather, from the Prophet, peace be upon him. Similarly, when purchasing a camel, one should grasp its hump and utter the same supplication.
