Is visual acuity (being sighted) a prerequisite for the marriage guardian?

Sight is not required, as Prophet Shu'ayb (peace be upon him) married off his daughter while he was blind. The purpose of the marriage is discernible through hearing and widespread reports, thus it does not necessitate sight.
