When is a female *Makatabah* required to observe *Hijab* (veiling) from her master's household?

Book of Mukātaba (Contractual Manumission)
Primary text
A female *Makatabah* is not required to observe *Hijab* from her master's household until she has completed payment of her manumission amount. The evidence is the statement of the Prophet (peace be upon him): "If one of you has a *Makatab*, and he acquires what he needs to pay, then she should observe Hijab from him," which implies that the obligation does not exist before that point. This ruling is based on the fact that she remains his property while indebted, similar to how it is permissible to free a slave, but not someone who is not owned.
