Is the gift or bequest of a Mukatab (contracted slave) permissible?

Primary text
The gift and bequest of a Mukatab, along with the transfer of ownership, are permissible because the legal status of the Mukatab is analogous to that of a sold slave. The correct position is that these actions are permissible because the ruling established for the explicitly mentioned case (sale) applies to cases sharing the same essence. Ahmad reported that he forbade the gift of a Mukatab because the religious texts only addressed his sale.
