Primary text

If the denying master seeks recourse (restitution) against the slave for his fifty-unit share, the affirming partner's claim on his share remains secured, and the slave owes him nothing further because the payment secured the partner's right. If the denying master seeks recourse against the affirming partner, he recovers twenty-five units from him, and twenty-five units from the slave. Neither party seeks reimbursement from the other for what they received, based on the principle that the payment secured their respective shares.
