However, the preferred view is that it is not voided in these cases because a mere condition is not invalidated by such circumstances. Since the prevailing ruling in this invalid contract is that of a mere condition, it is not invalidated by the master's insanity or incapacitation.

If the slave pays the master after such an event, he is manumitted according to the view that it is not voided. Those who hold it is voided rule that manumission does not occur.
