What is the legal status regarding injury compensation when the right transfers to the master's heirs?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Mukātaba (Contractual Manumission)
Primary text
The ruling regarding the master's heirs dealing with the Mukatab is the same as the ruling regarding the master dealing with him, because the manumission contract transfers to them. Furthermore, if the slave were to revert to being a chattel slave, he would belong to them. If the Mukatab inflicted an injury upon the master's deceased predecessor (the inheritance), and the master inherited the claim, the ruling is the same as if the injury was inflicted upon the master in a matter less than homicide, as previously detailed.
