The master possesses the right to discipline and chastise the slaves belonging to the mukatab if they commit acts deserving of such treatment, as this is considered part of maintaining the value of his property, similar to providing maintenance for them.

The master does not possess the right to implement prescribed legal punishments (hadd) upon the mukatab's slaves because this is a matter of legal authority (wilayah), and the master is not qualified for it.
