Book of Mukātaba (Contractual Manumission)
Primary text
The mukatab is not obligated to comply with this request, as this constitutes an assignment of agency, which a judge is not required to undertake. A judge is not tasked with collecting payment from a legally competent adult. If the judge chooses to collect, his action is treated as that of an agent, and upon collection, the mukatab is manumitted.
