What is the ruling on demanding performance of *Kitabah* (manumission contract) when the due date arrives and the wealth is present?

When the *najm* (installment date) arrives and the wealth due for *Kitabah* is present with the contracted person, performance must be demanded. Rescission of the contract (*faskh*) is not permissible before the demand is made, similar to how rescission of a sale or *salam* contract is not allowed merely upon the obligation of payment before a demand.
