Primary text
If the master says, 'Forgive him the most of what he owes,' half and the smallest increment above it are forgiven. If the master says, 'Forgive him the most of what he owes, and half of it,' three-quarters and the smallest increment above it are forgiven. If the master says, 'Forgive him the most of what he owes, and its equivalent,' this covers the entire required writing amount plus an excess. This is valid for the writing amount, but void concerning the excess due to lack of a subject matter.
