What is the ruling when a portion of a Mukatab's slaves commits a crime resulting in a financial penalty?

Primary text
When a portion of a master's conditionally manumitted slave (Mukatab) commits a crime for which the penalty is financial compensation, that penalty is not established. This is because a master is not obligated to pay compensation for his own slave. The ruling applies because the financial compensation does not become due to the master against his slave.
