When is the time permissible for fulfilling the payment related to a contract?

The time for permitting fulfillment of payment begins immediately from the contract execution (al-'aqd). This is evidenced by the command in the Quran, "And those whom your right hands possess, contract with them, if you know there is good in them, and give them of the wealth of Allah which He has given you" (Quran 24:33). Fulfilling the payment is required from the moment of the contract, and hastening the payment is superior in all instances because it results in greater benefit, similar to the ruling concerning Zakat.
