Validity of Kitabah when the master purchased a Muslim slave and immediately sought Kitabah.

If a person purchases a Muslim slave and immediately enters into a *Kitabah* agreement with him, the *Kitabah* is invalid because the initial purchase was void, and thus ownership sufficient to permit *Kitabah* was never established.
