Primary text
If the Dhimmi master converts to Islam, the *Kitabah* contract does not dissolve, because it was validly concluded when he was a non-Muslim. He is not compelled to relinquish his ownership immediately, as the slave has already exited the master's control through the *Kitabah*. However, if the slave is unable to complete the agreed payment, the master is then compelled to remove his ownership interest.
