What is the ruling concerning the recommendations for the performance of Li'an?

The stipulations regarding the presence of a group, the minimum number of attendees, and the standing posture during the oaths are all recommendations, not obligations. Abu Hanifa and Al-Shafi'i hold this view, and no dissent to this is known.
