If the accuser is a minor (*Sabiyy*) or insane (*Majnun*), neither physical punishment (*Darb*) nor *Li'an* is required for the accusation.

This ruling is upheld by Al-Thawri, Malik, Al-Shafi'i, Abu Ubaid, Abu Thawr, the Ashab al-Ra'y (Hanafi jurists), and Ibn al-Mundhir, who stated that he is unaware of any opposing opinions.
