What constitutes two separate instances of ila' regarding timing stipulations?

Book of the Oath of Abstention (Ila')
Primary text
Two instances of ila' are established when the husband intends a different time period for the second oath, or if he explicitly uses qualifying terms indicating a subsequent period. This occurs when he states, 'By Allah, I will not have intercourse with you for a year,' and then follows it with, 'By Allah, I will not have intercourse with you for another year,' or 'another half year,' or states, 'By Allah, I will not have intercourse with you for a year, and when that passes, then by Allah, I will not have intercourse with you for a year.' These are two ila' rulings in two separate time periods, where the ruling of one is not contained within the other; one takes immediate effect while the other is postponed. When the time for the first expires, the ruling for the second remains.
