What phrases constitute an explicit, unambiguous oath of *Ila'* (non-consummation) concerning both the ruling and the inner intention?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of the Oath of Abstention (Ila')
Primary text
The phrases that are explicit in both the ruling and the inner intention (*batin*) are: 'By Allah, I will not approach you,' 'I will not enter,' 'I will not insert my male organ into your private part,' or 'I will not cause you to lose your virginity' (the last applying only to a virgin). These are absolute in their implication, and no defense (*dayn*) regarding the intention is accepted because they admit no other interpretation than *Ila'*.
