What is the required wording for reconciliation (Fay') for a person prevented from intercourse due to a physical inability, such as paraplegia or paralysis?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of the Oath of Abstention (Ila')
Primary text
For one who is incapable due to paraplegia or paralysis, the reconciliation consists of saying, 'If I were able, I would have approached you' (Law qudiru lajaama'tuka). This statement suffices to nullify the negative effect resulting from his initial oath of abstinence (Iila').
