What is the ruling if the initial divorce was irrevocable and the husband remarries the wives after the divorce?

If the initial divorce was irrevocable (*bain*), and the husband subsequently remarries all or some of the wives, the ruling of *Ila'* returns, and the period restarts from the time of the new marriage contract. This applies whether the remarriage occurs during the waiting period (*iddah*), afterwards, or after an intervening marriage to another man followed by consummation.
