What are the characteristics of those whom Allah loves?

Allah loves three types of people. The first is a man who asks a group of people, asking them by Allah and not by any kinship he has with them, and a man remains behind them and gives him secretly, such that only Allah the Mighty and Glorious and the giver know of his giving. The second is a group of people who travel all night until sleep is dearer to them than what equals it in value, and they lay down their heads, and one of them rises, supplicating to Allah and reciting His verses. The third is a man in a military expedition where they meet the enemy and are defeated, so he advances with his chest until he is killed or victory is achieved for them. These narrations are reported by Al-Nasa'i from Abu Dharr.
