Is excessive swearing by God detested (Makruh)?
General Chapter

Primary text
Excessive swearing by God Almighty is detested because of the Divine statement: "And do not obey every habitual swearer, contemptible one" (Quran 68:10). This condemnation implies the undesirability of the act. The rationale for disliking excess is that it scarcely avoids falsehood. If swearing does not reach the level of excess, it is not detested, unless accompanied by something that necessitates its dislike.

Some scholars hold that all oaths are detested based on the verse: "And do not make Allah an excuse in your oaths" (Quran 2:224).
