What is the ruling if one swears falsely by a religion other than Islam?

Whoever swears that he is free from Islam falsely is held to his word if he was lying. If he was truthful in his claim of being free from Islam (which would imply apostasy), he does not return to Islam safely, according to the report established by consensus (Muttafaq 'alayh).
