Primary text
Statements such as 'I seek aid in God' (Asta'inu billah), 'I seek refuge in God' (A'tasimu billah), 'I trust in God' (Atuwakkalu 'ala Allah), 'God knows' (Allahu a'lam), 'God honors' ('Azz Allah), or 'Blessed is God' (Tabarak Allah), and similar phrases, do not constitute an oath, regardless of intent. This is because they are not established in the language for the purpose of an oath, nor have they acquired customary use in the divine law.
