Primary text
The agent is prohibited from purchasing for more than the capital sum because the permission given did not extend beyond that amount. If the capital was one thousand, and the agent purchased a slave for one thousand, and then purchased another slave with the original one thousand in cash, the second sale is invalid because the item was bought with capital that was already due for delivery in the first transaction.
