Is the husband obligated to pay half the dower (Mahr) if the purchase occurs before consummation?

There are two established scholarly opinions regarding whether the husband must pay half the dower if the purchase of his wife by the capital provider occurs prior to consummation. If it is ruled that he is obligated, he may reclaim that amount from the managing partner (Amil) because the partner's action was the cause for its obligation upon him, similar to when a woman invalidates a marriage through suckling (ridaa').
