Is it permissible to enter into partnership using precious metals (dirhams and dinars) as capital?

It is permissible without dispute to designate dirhams and dinars as capital stock because they are the recognized values and prices of goods. This practice has been universally accepted from the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him) until the present.
