Primary text

In a partnership based purely on labor (*Sharikat al-Abdan*), since there is no capital to serve as a basis for profit division, it is plausible that profit is divided equally because the labor of one partner is of the same genus as the labor of the other, making the shared basis of work the reference point. However, it is also plausible that profit cannot be determined by labor alone because work varies in quantity and quality and cannot be precisely measured, unlike capital. Therefore, the profit shares must be explicitly stated, similar to *Mudarabah*.
