What is the benefit of confirming the validity of the pledge upon the death of the pledger even if the heir cannot specifically grant possession to the pledgee over other creditors?

The benefit is that it remains possible that the other creditors will consent to the pledgee taking possession, thus completing the pledge. There is no difference regarding the permission to take possession whether it was given before the event (insanity/death) or not, as any prior permission is invalidated by insanity, death, unconsciousness, or legal restriction.
