Does the status of the mortgaged slave change regarding the pledgee?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Pledges (Collateral)
Primary text
The mortgaged slave never becomes a bondswoman with a child (*umm walad*) to the pledgee, whether she is taken over after birth or before, and regardless of whether the child is ruled free or enslaved. This is because the pledgee impregnated her while she was not under his ownership.
