What are the conditions for the validity of a child's prayer?

The conditions for the prayer of a child are the same as those required for the prayer of a mature person. However, the Prophet's statement, "Allah does not accept the prayer of a menstruating woman unless she has a covering (khimar)," indicates that the prayer of one who is not menstruating is valid without a covering.
