Extent of visibility required for following the Imam

Where visibility is required for following, seeing those behind the Imam suffices, whether seen through the door in front of him, or from his right, left, or the end of the row behind him, as this enables following. If visibility occurs during some parts of the prayer, the prayer is presumed valid, supported by the narration of 'Aishah when people saw the Prophet's shadow while praying at night and stood to follow him.
