How should a group of naked individuals arrange themselves when praying together?
Chapter on the Description of Prayer
Al-Mughni
Book of Prayer
Primary text
If a group of naked people prays, their Imam should stand in the middle of them. If some can cover others, they should pray standing. It is necessary for them to perform prostration on the ground, not mere nodding, even when they are compressing themselves together. They should compress themselves (tadammum) to cover what is possible rather than sitting cross-legged (tartabu').
Supporting text
There is a narration attributed to Imam Ahmad suggesting they should sit cross-legged for the standing position, but the position favoring compression (tadammum) is considered superior.
