The Hadith stating, 'There is no prayer for one who has a missed prayer upon him' has no basis (lā aṣla lahu). Both Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal and Ibrāhīm al-Ḥarbī reported that they were unaware of this wording from the Prophet. Therefore, the ruling reverts to performing missed prayers in sequence until the time for the current prayer is feared to expire, at which point the current prayer is performed, and then the sequence of making up the missed prayers resumes.
